Punta Cana Princess All-Inclusive Adult's Only

by Ashley

Upon arrival to the Punta Cana Princess we were all considered "family". Well....going to this resort makes you feel like you are the rich uncle who has to provide for everyone else! From the moment we stepped foot on the property we were constantly asked if we wanted to buy something. I have never seen a resort that is suppose to be the best to help you in relaxing allow vendors to set up shop every 20 feet and push you to purchase something.

VIP Package

We had the VIP package (which I'm still trying to figure out what that got us other than free internet for 20 min/day) that was to allow us to go on a direct shot from the airport to the hotel, a gift basket, a free bottle of rum, robe, slippers, and cigars. It took us almost 3 hours to make a 30 min drive from the airport to the hotel because we had to drop people off at other resorts.

My fiance and I received our welcome package (without the slippers or beach bag); however, the couple travelling with us did not get any of theirs for 3 days after arriving, the internet was down most days we were there, the cabanas on the beach that were for VIP were always being used by someone other than VIP so don't waste your money on that package.

The food was horrible. 3 out of our 4 travellers got food poisoning on Mexican night and you couldn't enjoy your dinner due to the mosquitoes that were making a meal out of your legs under the dining table. I have over 20 bites on my feet to my knees alone.

Transportation around the complex

No one told us when we got there that you had to ride a golf cart to the other resorts so we always walked along the beach until finally we figured out on our 4th day that there was such a cart.

The room was ok but not what we paid for.

The people were rude and if you didn't want to participate in their activities you were called "lazy". I paid to go to Punta Cana to relax,... not dance on the side of a pool and be called lazy because I want to lay on my chair and read my book. The shows were horrible and all in a different language.

And if you want to go on an excursion that the hotels want you to buy then be cautious on what you do. We took an excursion to Saona Island which included a speed boat to the island (which broke down on the way in the middle of the Caribbean Sea) to an island that was beautiful but when you went in the water wear your shoes because the shells are going to tear up your feet. Then we took another boat back to Punta Cana (which broke down) and finally 13 hours later made it back to the room.

We took our complaints to the management there and received the run-around and was told that if we wanted to switch hotels then it would cost us 500 dollars/couple to do so.

The only thing I can say about this place was that our maid was great and helpful...the view and beach was spectacular...but you should be able to get that at any resort you go to. What a great way to take care of your "family". Thumbs down...way down...for this rathole. I will never visit Punta Cana again because of the way we were treated at this resort.
