What to expect once you arrive

The Punta Cana International Airport is located in the eastern region of the Dominican Republic. The airport was built with open terminals, as you can see, its structure reflects the Caribbean surroundings. This airport has become quite important for the Dominican Republic resorts because it receives an increasing quantity of visitors yearly.

  • identifications

  • tickets

  • 10 (USD or Euros) per person, to purchase the tourist card.

    You can conveniently purchase the Dominican Republic tourist card online and print it right at your home.

    Note that you will need a Visa or Mastercard and can purchase up to 5 tourist cards (twice in a day, per credit card).

The Punta Cana International Airport counts with various facilities and services including: snack bars, medical services, duty free zone, money exchange, telephones, car rental and taxis.

Luggage Bags

At the moment of finally getting your luggage, lots of luggage carriers are waiting around to help the tourists. You can carry your own bags but if they are heavy the carriers are more than willing to get the luggage for you. If you want to tip them and have no idea how much, the standard suggestion per bag ranges from 1.00 USD to 5.00 USD.

The tour representative will have a sign of the resort you will be staying and he/she will show you the way to the bus that you should get to take you to the hotel or resort.

In the case that you are not traveling on a charter, there are many taxis available around the airport accepting dollars, euros and Dominican pesos. 

There is also the option of booking airport transfers with anticipation.
