The Punta Cana beaches
are very famous all around the world. Thousands of tourists travel to
the Dominican Republic each year to see them first hand. The beaches
are very important for the Dominican Republic tourism so they are kept by the government, the Punta Cana hotels and resorts, and the people.
Commonly they are considered among the most impressive ones of the planet. Imagine several miles of stunning white sand gently washed by the most clear and dreamy waters.
Depending on the location of the beach, the breeze could be
enough to relax you until the point of taking a nap or it could rock
you with its tremendous force. The vast majority of the Punta Cana
beaches are occupied by resorts which turned them into a major tourist
spot. Most of the hotels offer all inclusive programs to provide guests
with water activities and cuisine from different parts of the world.
You can also find there: a wide variety of vendors and many
people just chilling watching the tropical landscape, feeling the soft
and warm breeze of the relaxing beach.
The Punta Cana area which is located on la Altagracia province is a beautiful place with astounding scenery but is mostly well known for its beaches catering to all kinds of tastes.
The Punta Cana beach encompasses a coast line of approximately 30 miles. This area specifically has the whitest and cleanest sand than any other area that most people have seen.
You could say the famous beaches in Punta Cana can be
separated into 8
main specific sectors from north to south:
Uvero Alto, Macao, Arena Gorda , El Cortecito, Bávaro, Cabeza de Toro, Cabo Engano, and Punta Cana Beach. The closer to the south the beach is, the calmer the waters are going to be.
Is the beach that is located farther to the north. The water is very clear and the sand very soft. The sand is somewhat darker than the sand found in the southern beaches but not by much. The surf in Uvero Alto tends to be slightly rougher than in the other Punta Cana beaches. In any case is a great place to practice water sports. Some of the resorts found on that beach are the: Zoetry, Sivory, Excellence, Sirenis complex and the Dreams Punta Cana.
There is a lot of wave action in this area. This is the place
where the Macao surf camp is located. You won’t find a better area in
Punta Cana where you can learn to surf with great instructors. This is
without a doubt one of the beaches preferred by surfers in the eastern
coast of the country.
There are no resorts are found in this beach so it has been kept in its natural state.
The main feature is its extraordinary width of white sand providing more than enough space for people to relax. Some of the resorts found in this area are the Hard Rock hotel, the Barcelo Punta Cana, the Majestic Colonial, the Grand Bahia complex and the Riu complex.
El Cortecito is one of the most popular Punta Cana beaches.
There are several shops and delicious seafood restaurants in the beach for you to enjoy. Also don't forget to try their famous pina colada served in a huge pineapple. The sand is a little bit whiter than those at the northern beaches and the water is transparent. Some of the resorts near this beach are the: Carabela Bavaro Beach, Gran Palladium complex and the Punta Cana Princess complex.
It is one of the most visited Punta Cana beaches in the area. The sand is very white and the water is simply mesmerizing. There is a fairly impressive coral reef that forms a barrier protecting this breathtaking spot from high surf. The very same reef creates a natural refreshing pool of crystal clear water which is ideal for some Punta Cana snorkeling.
Some of the resorts found in the beach are the: Melia Caribe Tropical, Barcelo Bavaro Beach and the Paradisus Palma Real.
Cabeza de Toro
This beach is also pretty impressive although is less popular than the previously mentioned Punta Cana beaches. It is a very quiet beach with lots of white sand and palms. This is an ideal spot to visit if you want a less crowded beach. Some of the resorts near the beach are the Dreams Palm Beach Punta Cana and the Catalonia complex.
The beach can only be accessed through a dirt road and is pretty much isolated. There are no resorts in this area so if you want to visit it you will need to do it in a private vehicle. It is extremely quiet with seldom visitors due to its remote location.
Punta Cana is the last of the beaches of this area.
Punta Cana beach is south of Cabo Engano and is known to be one of the most beautiful locations to achieve complete relaxation. The blue waters are simply refreshing and strips of white sand incredibly soft. Some of the resorts located at this beach are the Club Med and Punta Cana Resort and Club.
These beaches are something different because they are located on tiny islands very close to Punta Cana:
The first of the beaches is located in Isla Catalina.
is a small place but don’t let it size deceive you as it contains a
natural beauty beyond belief. One of the most alluring coral reefs
that can be found close to the Dominican Republic is near the coast of
this island. Many visitors of the Punta Cana area consider this beach a
small paradise on earth and a must to visit.
The other one is the beach in Isla Saona.
small island is part of the East National Park and can be found quite
close to the southeast of the Dominican Republic. In fact, this small
island was named one of the Caribbean's Eight Dream Beaches by Caribbean Travel & Life
The Punta Cana beaches are definitely something else, they have all the conditions necessary to make a great vacation.
The weather is always good there, mostly sunny and seldom it rains. If you combine that with crystal clear waters, white sand and very nice welcoming people you will surely have lasting memories of your vacation.
