Travel with 13 month old baby

Hi

We are planning to attend a family wedding in Feb. 2011 at the Dreams Punta Cana. My grandson will be 13 months old and we would like to bring him. I am concerned with the availability of medical care should he need it and the risk for malaria and other disease. Also is the bottled water safe? I have heard conflicting reports. How baby friendly is this resort?

Robin

Answer:

Hello Robin:

A good prevention is to always use insect repellent (for you and your grandson). I haven't heard about a malaria outbreak recently, however, it is more common on Africa and some countries of South America. At the Dreams Punta Cana there is a medical facility in the case of any any unexpected situation. Is highly recommended to use bottled water to drink and also for brushing your teeth.

There is an area called the infant club for babies where you will be able to have fun with him (on playgrounds, pool, etc.) You can have baby sitting service for an extra charge.
