Royal Catalonia Bavaro
Punta Cana
Get ready to stay at the Royal Catalonia Bavaro Punta Cana

The Royal Catalonia Bavaro Punta Cana resort is another of the few resorts
in Punta Cana that appeal to all type of crowds. Families with children,
romantic couples, honeymooners, and people wanting to party are all welcomed
here. This 3 star resort has accommodations in 33 story buildings, giving 24
junior suites in each building for the total 711 rooms in the resort.

There is a stunning water fountain that can take anyone's breath
away. To complete the immense enchantment of the Royal Catalonia Bavaro Punta
Cana resort there is a 1 km of
exclusive beach with white coral sands and turquoise waters. The area is pretty
big so to walk to the beach might take some minutes depending on which building are
you staying. Many European frequent this resort so you will see a lot of
them around. There will be some smoking in the area as you know many of them
like it,
but since the wind can be strong in the area you won’t even feel it. Also you
can see there will be topless women there, but after a day you will get used to
it.
The staff service is excellent, they work very hard to
delight
the customers, even sometimes the language can be a bit troublesome for them but
they do their best to satisfy the needs of the guests. They are always serving with
a smile on their faces and for that they deserve a nice tip.
Rooms

You
can see there are two types of suites at the Royal Catalonia Bavaro Punta Cana:
the junior and the royal junior. The royal
junior suites are in another part of the resort that is for adults only. Here 3
adults can accommodate in a room with: private swimming pool, Jacuzzi, 30 minutes of
free massage per person per stay, 24 hr room service, bathrobe, slippers,
and king beds plus the equipment in the junior suites.

The junior suites have
the usual stuff like satellite TV, ceiling fans, 1 king bed or
2 twins beds,
telephone, air conditioner, and more. This rooms have a nice space and are
certainly comfortable; they are the kind you will find in the normal area
of the Royal Catalonia Bavaro Punta Cana resort.
Pool and Beach
There
are 2 great pools which are an essential part of the Royal Catalonia Bavaro
Punta Cana resort, after all what is a
resort without a nice looking pool. An immense and extraordinary pool is located
in the central part of this resort, perfectly crafted fountains, incredibly well
made Jacuzzis with a refreshing touch of tiny islands all around the pool to
give this place an aura of a true Caribbean vacation.
The swim up bar is present in this pool which makes it even
better (especially for me). Many water sports are played here like water polo and
water volleyball. The pool is big enough to have a nice crowd in there and be
comfy at the same time. Children can have fun here at the Royal Catalonia Bavaro
Punta Cana too, there is a separate
pool for them here where they can jump and swim all they want.

As I said before here you will see 1 km of exquisite snow white sand bathed
with turquoise waters, sheltered in an enclosed bay mixed with a coral reef
nearby ensure the water activities done here to be a success. To get a decent
spot in the beach, I must tell you that waking up pretty early is the only way to
go. When I say early I mean like dawn, you get a towel (preferable one that
belongs to you not a hotel one) and put it over the chair of your choice to save
it. Once there you are pretty much settled to enjoy a nice day at the beach.
Food
The
Royal Catalonia
Bavaro Punta Cana resort got a pretty nice menu in their restaurants. The Gran Caribe
restaurant is the buffet for excellence in this place, they have
international
cuisine which is more like a summary of foods of different countries. They have
4 very nice a la carte restaurants :
La pariesenne (French restaurant),
Mikado (Japanese restaurant),
El Paso (Mexican restaurant), and
Rodeo steakhouse. An ice cream place too, called
Breton ice (ice cream
parlor), Palapa Beach restaurant (serves continental breakfast and barbeque at
lunch), and La gondola (Italian restaurant).
For the buffet is preferably to be
there early, to have the fresh and hot food. If you come close to the time when
they are closing you will have to deal with the food cold and not much variety;
so remember always be early. For breakfast and lunch you will most likely choose
between the buff et and the
Palapa restaurant.
Both have great choice of food but like usual it comes up to how early you go. The
a la carte restaurants can only be used at dinner time and with a
reservation. The dressing as you can imagine is long pants for men and the rest of
the semi formal clothes. The toughest part is the reservation which must be done
as soon you get to the resort to reduce conflicts and good tipping will take you
far.
Entertainment

There are plenty of activities that can be done here:
water
sports,
night entertainment,
excursions,
golf, and
more land sports. Among the
daylight activities is pedal boats, snorkeling gear, sailboats, and windsurfing.
Scuba diving and snorkeling lessons will have a sub charge. The motorized sports
like jet ski and banana boat will also involve an extra fee. The Royal Catalonia Bavaro Punta Cana resort is full of fun!
Every night after
10 pm there will be a show where performers will do musical acts, imitations,
etc. The casino in this resort will open after 7 pm for all those who like Vegas
style action. The disco is one of the top choices for people who want to enjoy a
wild time in Punta Cana. I mentioned this before but I will say it again, you
don't have to be bored in your room at night, here
all types of people can have their fun time; honeymooners, romantic couples, singles,
teenagers, and of course families. Having fun is definitely a priority for
anyone staying at the Royal Catalonia Bavaro Punta Cana!!!
Excursions to
Saona island,
Isla Catalina, and
Manati
park (Note: please check the daytime activities section for more information) are also another way to pass your vacation here even when they can be a
little bit
pricy. To visit Saona island you have to pay 18 US dollars per person and 25 US
dollars aprox. per person to Manati park .
If you thought there was nothing to do in land you are very wrong. There is a
golf course (with an extra fee of course), gym, computers with high speed
connection, basketball court, tennis court, volleyball, dancing lessons, and
Spanish lessons.
