Room Safe

This is my first time traveling to the islands and I've always taken a diversion type safe with me... but this time I have passports as well as money to keep safe. Are you charged daily for the safes or given your stay combination until you leave?

Answer:

Hi, Monique congratulations on your first trip to Punta Cana. Keeping your belongings in a secure spot is vital to have some peace of mind in your vacation. It doesn’t matter where you go, it is a fundamental fact. Now, the first thing you need to keep in mind as you travel to Punta Cana for the first time is that safety boxes vary depending on the resort. Some hotels provide complimentary safety boxes whenever you stay, while others provide one with an additional fee if you wish to use them. The extra charge for the safe is typically around $2 per day.

The room type for a specific hotel also affects whether you pay for a safe or not. There are resorts that provide free of charge safety boxes as long as you stay in an upgraded room, of course some resorts will provide the safe no matter the room type you choose.

The combination for the safe is the one that you choose. As soon as you arrive to your room, pick any set of numbers you like (preferable ones that only you know and won’t forget) and set it up.
