Riu
Naiboa Punta Cana
An
unforgettable vacation at the Riu Naiboa Punta Cana Resort
The Riu Naiboa
Punta Cana resort is
a small hotel that is part of the Riu
complex. This complex is formed by 5 Riu
hotels: Riu Naiboa, Riu Melao, Riu Taino, Rio Palace
Macao, and Riu Bambu.
The
complex shares the restaurants and facilities between them with the
exception of the Riu Palace Macao and
the Riu
Palace Punta Cana. This
last 2 hotels are very exclusive, so their facilities are toward their
guests only.
This
resort is a 4 star hotel
and
it has 362
rooms, the place is
very well organized and the staff provides excellent service. This
place is close to the Caribbean street and is a 5 minute walk from the
beach. Tropical vegetation around help create this paradise sensation
and a wonderful vacation environment.
The Riu Naiboa
Punta Cana resort is a 4 stories building and is
surrounded by lots of vegetation. Many European frequent the Riu
resorts
so you will feel
their presence very strongly. One of the European habits is being
topless in
the beach,
so don’t be surprised when you see
this. The staff there knows their languages very well so they can
attend the guests with the utmost urgency.
Rooms
The general
layout of the
room at the Riu Naiboa Punta Cana consists in a couple of beds usually
one queen
size and one single
bed, some chairs, a couple of cabinets, and the
bathroom of course. The interior of the room seems to be decorated
with some portraits and a couple of lamps.
In the rooms there's
also satellite TV,
which is used particularly after meal moments when some resting is
required, and the safe to make sure that your money remains where it
should be. All
this stuff is included,
so don’t worry; no extra
charge.
Pools
and beaches
The Riu Naiboa Punta Cana resort has
one
crystalline pool with a separated area for the children. The pool here
looks a bit different from the ones in the other resorts; this one is
surrounded by lots of vegetation, kind of giving the illusion of an
oasis in the middle of a forest.
The beach
here is called Arena
Gorda
and is shared by the other Riu
resorts as well, so expect quite a crowd in there. Reminder: getting up
early is required if you want to grab a chair with good location on the
beach. Some people could find a little inconvenient that a 5 minute
walk is needed to reach the beach for this resort, but if you don’t
mind it is worth to consider it.
Food
There are not that many restaurants
here compared to other resorts but their standards are pretty good. The
Cohiba buffetrestaurant offers a special team
buffet 2 times a week. The snack bar helps for those cravings that
appear between main meal times. The 2 a la carterestaurants available require some nice dressing
and reservations. One is dedicated to Mediterranean food and the
other's specialty is the steaks. Both provide an interesting
alternative to the buffet.
Entertainment
The range in activities
for this resort
is pretty similar to the other resorts. The water
sports are always a
good choice sailing, windsurfing, kayaking and snorkeling. There is
this shipwreck near a reef perfect for snorkeling. The all inclusive
package covers for the water sports and other activities like tennis,
volleyball and aerobics. The motorized water sports like jet ski will
have an additional charge.
The Riu
Miniclub offer activities every day for kids
ages 4 to 12. Another alternative is the baby sitting service which
will cost 8.00 US dollars per hour and have to be done with a 24 hour
advance notice.
For the night entertainment
the shows in the theater are always a good choice. Some times they
provide live music as well. I could say that the main feature for the
nights is thePacha
Disco; it provides great music although you
have to pay for the drinks. The fact that all of the Riu resorts guests go there to
have a great time is almost a guarantee of a great partying environment.
