Riu Taino Punta Cana

The Riu Taino Punta Cana resort is a hotel that is part of the Riu complex. It is located around 30 km away from the airport and 50 km away from the city of Higuey. This complex is formed by 5 Riu hotels: Riu Naiboa, Riu Melao, Riu Taino,  Riu Palace Macao, and Riu Bambu.

This resort is a 4.5 star hotel and it has 620 rooms. The tourists that go to the Punta Cana Riu Taino the most are families with teenagers. The place is near to the Caribbean street and is a short walk from the Arena Gorda beach. The Punta Cana Riu Taino resort is a 2 stories bungalows-style and is surrounded by lots of vegetation. On the bad side, no spring-breakers are allowed.

 

Rooms

A typical guestroom in the Riu Taino Punta Cana consists of a couple of beds usually one queen size and one twin bed, some cozy chairs, a couple of cabinets, and the bathroom of course. You will have a balcony/terrace to view the great vegetation surroundings of this resort. In the rooms you can find central air conditioning and ceiling fan. Also the daily maid service will keep your room and bathroom clean, so don't forget to leave a tip if the service is good.

The mini bar and liquor dispenser are provided too. In the rooms there's also: a hairdryer, telephone, radio alarm clock,  satellite TV, and the safe to keep your valuable items. The suites guestrooms include carpeted floor in the bedroom area and a living room. All this stuff is included, without an extra charge.

Pool and beach

The Riu Taino Punta Cana resort has a significantly big pool and a children's section. This one is surrounded by lots of tropical vegetation, giving the illusion of a Dominican village.

 

The beach is called Arena Gorda and is shared by the other Riu resorts as well, you can expect a crowd in there. With the white sand beach and breathtaking turquoise waters you will want to relax for a long time. Remember to get up early and find a  lounge chair in a comfortable spot. Don't be surprised if you see in Punta Cana topless people, remember that many Europeans love to have their vacation at the Punta Cana Resorts. This famous beach is really astounding, making it one of the main attractions of the Riu Resorts.

Food

At the buffet there is available full breakfast and a variety of food including: pizza, pasta, fruits, and salads when eating lunch and dinner at the buffet. At dinner you can eat in the Las Arecas restaurant for regular buffets and special themed buffets twice a week. Or you can go a la carte with: Italian food, La Yola, or Asian cuisine (remember to dress appropriately). On the last restaurants reservations in advanced are required.

If you want to try something different from the Riu Taino Punta Cana you can go to other restaurants located on the Riu Complex, with the exception of the Punta Cana Riu Palace Macao and the Punta Cana Riu Palace.

Entertainment

A lot of activities are available on the Riu Taino Punta Cana like going on tours and of course shopping. On water sports there is included: windsurfing, kayaking, sailing, snorkeling, and scuba diving. There are four tennis courts in the Riu Resort, perfect for a good workout. Also volleyball, gym, sauna, golf course (for an additional fee) are good options for having an incredible time at Punta Cana.

For kids and adults there is daytime entertainment. At night you can go to the show and to the Pacha disco/pub for drinks and dancing, which is available for all the Riu Resorts.
