Ocean Blue Punta Cana
Visit the Ocean Blue Punta Cana Golf and Beach Resort for a
relaxing vacation.

The Ocean Blue Punta Cana Golf and Beach Resort is part of a complex
combined with the Ocean Sand Resort. The 2 resorts combined have a total of
approximately 700 rooms. The Ocean Blue alone has 374 rooms which makes it a
small hotel. Both resort are parts of the same area which encompass this 4.5
star hotel. You must know that the area around this resort is immense and
walking huge distances can be a pretty common thing everyday. There are this
little trolley-cars that pass by every couple of minutes, which can help cover
those long distances but sometimes they won’t appear when needed; so don’t hold
your breath. The orientation for this resort is mostly toward families with
children and romantic couples. The overall service is good as the staff in most
Punta Cana resorts are very hard workers. The grounds look very well taken care
of and the rooms look clean enough.
Rooms
The
normal junior suite at the Ocean Blue Punta Cana will accommodate a family of 4 or 5 adults max. The
equipment included is: 2 queen beds or 1 king size bed, sofa bed,
air
conditioner, mini fridge, satellite TV, safe, bathroom with Jacuzzi, and
balcony. The deluxe junior suite have better benefits like: all from the junior
plus 1 free dinner to Bucanero or El bodegon restaurant, 30
minutes massage per adult per stay, 30 minutes of horseback riding per person
per stay, and VIP Bracelets. Also with the elite club upgrade you receive
24
hour room service, 1 hour of free motor water sport and more. The rooms around
here are pretty big particularly if you pay for the deluxe suites.
Pool and Beach
There
are 2 pools at the Ocean Blue Punta Cana this resort both of them have swim-up bar and
2 Jacuzzis that are
part of it was well. The huge pools are decorated with fountains inside of it
which gives them a touch of majestic shower. The usual chairs all around of it
are found, which must be saved as in the normal resorts with a towel.
The
snow white sands stretch for miles and some towering palms gives this beach a
great touch. One of the disadvantages is that there is no much shade in this
beach with just a few palms and small amount of umbrellas. The place got some
nice waves, even when they are not super great they can satisfy the water sports
beginners.
Food

The Ocean Blue Punta Cana resort doesn’t get left behind in terms of
food. The place has 9 restaurants which means many choices to eat. La casa de
mi abuela (Dominican cuisine), Route 66 (American dinner, life size
figures of some American celebrities), Arenal beach restaurant (buffet
for lunch and snacks), I mascherati (Italian food), La Tortuga
(main buffet open breakfast, lunch and dinner), Margarita (Mexican
restaurant), La brasa (Caribbean grill, on the beach). For the breakfast
you are pretty much stuck with the buffet in which the food is not bad at all,
but is important that you get to it early or you will have to be happy with the
food being slightly cold and pretty much the leftovers. At lunch you will have 2
choices the main buffet again or the beach restaurant.
In
my opinion I prefer the Arenal beach restaurant, as I have said before
pizza for lunch is one of the things I love the most. Some might go with the
buffet but since the meals in there are similar for lunch and dinner, I prefer
a la carte restaurants in the evening. Like in every resort in Punta Cana
the dinner is my favorite meal time, mainly because of the many options
available. El Bucareno (sea food restaurant) and El Bodegon
(chef’s table) are some extra choices but they require an extra fee for their
use. The other restaurants at the Ocean Blue Punta Cana are beyond great, primarily because you can eat in
the a la carte restaurants without a reservation. The Italian and Mexican
are my favorites because of their: fantastic service, beautiful place,
hot and tasty food; can’t get better than this. Fortunately for you most of the
restaurants are near the lobby area of the hotel, so even with the humongous
size of this resort you will be able to find the restaurants at least.
Entertainment

Between the many
things to do offered at
the Ocean Blue Punta Cana, you can
pick: aerobics, nautilus equipment, sauna, bicycles,
windsurf, and snorkeling.
Also sports like: volleyball, archery, rock climbing, and
basketball. All the
previous mentioned are part of the all inclusive package, the next group of
activities require an extra fee. White sand golf (around 75 US dollars for 9
holes), fishing, sunfish sailing,
scuba diving, motorboats, waterskiing,
horseback riding,
massage, spa, and facials.

There is a lot of fun for the kids at the Ocean Blue
Punta Cana. This resort has a children’s club from ages 4 to 12 and a
teen club for ages 13 to 17. In the night the shows are one of the greatest part
of it, they usually start like 9 pm. This resort has some quiet atmosphere
during the night; so if you are a heavy
night party person this place is not
what you are looking for, but during the day it seems to be pretty active.
