Punta Cana has many resorts, but the Melia Caribe Tropical Punta Cana resort is one that stands out. This beautifully made touristic area is a 5 star resort which makes it very exclusive.

Besides being one of the most recent resorts it is very immense with 1,044 rooms. This all inclusive resort is surrounded by beautiful palm trees and abundant vegetation.

The Punta Cana airport is located 25 km from this resort which can be a fair distance. The orientation of this resort is for couples and to a lesser degree for families.

The place is really something, besides the fact that it has an astounding variety of 11 restaurants and some breathtaking facilities like: 7 pools, spa, cigar room, golf course, and it is located in the wonderful Bavaro Beach which is one of the greatest beaches in the world.

The Melia Caribe Tropical Punta Cana resort has a slightly different layout for the rooms. The rooms are divided into 2 connected areas with king size beds or 2 double beds. The tropical and exquisite style of this suites can accommodate 3 adults or 2 adults and 2 children. A well decorated and elegant bathroom made of white marble equipped with a hairdryer is part of this great combination. The place is quite big and it looks very organized, especially with the very cushy wooden chairs. The rooms use a junior suite-style complemented with safe box, ceiling fans, mini bar also a fantastic sofa-bed or couch, a furnished balcony with a wonderful view gives the finishing touch to this suites.

If there is one resort that have great pride in their pools I’m sure is this one. This resort can presume of having not one but 2 buffets to choose from as well 9 a la carte restaurants from different nationalities. Japanese, French, Italian, Chinese, Mexican, sea food, grilled, gourmet and even a steakhouse. All this places will require you to wear long pants and shoes for dinner. Also a reservation in the Melia Caribe Tropical Punta Cana will be needed for all a la carte restaurants, be advised that the reservation procedure can be a huge pain sometimes, so be prepared to give a nice tip to persuade them.

The 2 buffets specialize in the international cuisine which can still be pretty interesting and a good alternative if you don’t want to deal with reservations.

To have fun here you don’t even have to make an effort. With 9 bars all around the complex you can be sure you won’t get thirsty. 2 bars in the pool, 2 bars in the beach, 2 in the lobby, 1 in the Casino and another one in the Capri restaurant. In any place where you can have fun a bar will be near you to ensure you really enjoy your time. This bars will offer a pretty decent list of drinks like champagne. The sports bar is a fantastic place to have a nice cold Presidente beer while enjoying an exciting game of the season.

Some of the activities available in the Melia Caribe Tropical Punta Cana are: dance classes, yoga, beach volleyball, Spanish lessons, golf, arcade for teenagers, a spa with fitness center and they offer great massages as well, a special room for smokers called cigar saloon (useful if you are a smoker) are a few of the huge list of activities that can be done here. Windsurfing, sailboat, snorkeling, and scuba diving adds to the mix to make an impressive resort.

For the kids: the baby Rock club (4 months to 4 years), Bam-Bam Club (5 years to 8 years), and the Roca flash from (9 years to 13 years). The teen disco is a great alternative to keep the youngsters busy. A great number of themed parties and musical shows can combine with the casino to make the nights a very unforgettable time.
