Majestic Colonial Punta Cana

The Majestic Colonial Punta Cana has come a long way since initially opened its doors.

The deluxe style of this resort fused with breathtaking lush surroundings will make you feel like royalty.

In the beginning this resort was announced as one of the best resorts ever opened in Punta Cana. The early visitors of this hotel weren’t very impressed because of the major propaganda that they launched while they couldn’t back it up. Lately they have improved a lot to live to their reputation.

The accommodations here are indeed pretty good. A room may include: 1 king size bed or 2 queen beds with air conditioner, satellite TV, mini bar, terrace, room service, and more. The room types found here are: junior suite garden view, junior suite colonial, junior suite majestic pool, junior suite ocean view, suite, and suite colonial Jacuzzi. The facilities in this rooms naturally vary with the type of room chosen.

The junior suite colonial, the junior suite majestic pool, and the suite colonial Jacuzzi enjoy the special benefit of exterior Jacuzzi and private garden which is more directed toward romantic couples. One distinctive feature of the rooms here is that the shower and bathtub part are not separated from the room unlike the toilet, which is in closed space. For some families that could be a little uncomfortable as there is not much privacy while taking a bath. Which is one of the reasons I’m more inclined to say that the Majestic Colonial Punta Cana resort is clearly more focus toward couples.

The Majestic Colonial rooms are quite big with enough chairs and sofa for resting when you don’t feel like going to bed.

Pool and Beach

Majestic Colonial Punta Cana resort has 2 pools. One of them is for children which is perfect for them to swim around and play like only they love to do. The other is the standard for everybody else. This pool is shaped like a river that go through most of the resort, which honestly is quite different from the pools of the other resorts which mostly are round shaped and other irregular forms.

If you are not in the mood for swimming you can always relax by the pool, remember to use a sun block lotion and some sunglasses for more solar protection. The pool has crystal clear water and there is plenty of space in it for everybody. A part of the pool usually near one of the ends is where most activities like scuba lessons and water volleyball are done.

The swim up bar; great addition like always especially after a relaxing swimming exercise. The chairs and umbrellas at the side of the pool are for the taking but like you would expect in the early mornings is the moment to reserve them (using the always popular towel method).

The Arena Gorda beach is beautiful as usual with pretty nice waves that are perfect for boogie boarding. The beach is quite clean and also have a reef close by the shore (fantastic for snorkeling). The Palapas in white sand makes the area a dreamy place to rest and have a good time.

The Majestic Colonial Punta Cana has a well rounded group of interesting restaurants. You have your usual main buffet with the always necessary a la carte restaurants. The buffet is pretty much the only choice at breakfast while you will have much more variety at dinner. The buffet for some people is great but for others it isn’t anything special. For the a la carte restaurants you got the Chinese, Japanese, Mexican, grilled, steak, and seafood. The Japanese, Mexican, steak, and seafood are known to be the most tasty around here. The others well..., let say they aren’t that great. One of the main advantages here is that no reservations are required to enjoy these magnificent restaurants but they still insist on the dress code.

The activities around the Majestic Colonial Punta Cana resort are indeed something to remember. They have a gym with fitness machines and weights to help exercise anyone that wish to do so. One of the favorites is the spa that offers a great variety of treatments like facials, massages and mud baths. The golf course nearby the hotel can provide excitement to those fans of the sport. The golf course and the spa are available with extra cost but believe me if you are interested in them by all means just do it, after all it is your vacation.

Day and night tennis which is a personal favorite of mine and the marvelous water sports (kayak, snorkeling, windsurfing, catamarans and pedal boats) add to the majestic colonial resort plentiful choices to experience the joy of a life time. The supervised kids clubs for ages 4 to 7 and 8 to 14 years old are a special feature to ensure that your children will also have an awesome time in this resort.

The night shows with the artists imitations and dancing are splendid especially for the low budget of this productions. The night activities are completed with a spine tingling visit to the disco bar where you can dance at the rhythm of your favorite tunes. The casino is always a pretty decent alternative, but keep a fair a mount of cash to have fun and always remember to not get carried away.
