The Club Med Punta
Cana is a 4 stars all inclusive
resort located about 10 minutes away from the Punta Cana International
Airport.
You might be wondering why is it called Club Med, well that is
short for Club Méditerranée (a French corporation). As said before, it
is focused mainly on families with kids. This is not just any resort,
this tropical paradise has been awarded by the Travel & Leisure
magazine's in the 2008 World's Best Top 500 hotels.

Rooms
The Club Med has 553 rooms in various
bungalows-style buildings. There are 3 types of rooms at this resort:
the club rooms, the deluxe rooms have a bedroom, a balcony, and a
living space.
The suites include 2 bedrooms, one for the parents
and the other for
the children, each include an individual bathroom, also a living room
and a terrace; and different exclusive services. The guest rooms
include: telephone, TV, safe for your valuables, iron, mini fridge,
coffee machine. Also includes a shower room, air conditioner, radio,
and a hair dryer.
Pools
and beach
Guests have the options of
using 3 pools: the main swimming pool, the private
swimming pool, and the mini club med
swimming pool. There is an amazing private beach with snow-white sand
for the resort's guests. The palms will provide the shade needed for a
great relaxing time, and you will have access to the beach bar and
lounge chairs.
Food
Similarly
to the other all inclusive resorts in the area, the Club Med Punta Cana
has restaurants for the diverse preference on food types that the
guests might have. The main buffet restaurant is La Samana,
which is open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner; at this restaurant
there is the convenient baby corner for the parents
to
prepare food for their babies. Another available place to eat
is the Beach restaurant; it offers breakfast,
snacks all day, and at evening serves as an Argentinean steakhouse. The
Hispaniola offers international-type
buffets for lunch and dinner. Among the bars are the Cielo bar
and the Celeste bar; which
include many snacks and drinks like: bottled water, sodas, juices,
wines, and more.
Entertainment
There is no time to be bored with so
many activities: swimming,
snorkeling, basketball, water polo, volley ball,
etc. You will also have the option on participating in dance
classes, the circus, Club Med fitness, and the wellness centre spa.
For the younger guests, Club Med Punta Cana offers
a wide variety of supervised programs including: the Club Med
Baby Welcome (0 to 3 months, with extra charge), Baby
Club Med (4 to 23 months, for an extra charge), Petit
Club Med (2 to 4 years old, also for an additional fee). The
ones included in the all inclusive package are the Mini Club Med (4 to
10 years old) and the Club Med Passworld (11 to 17
years old). For the people that rather go on excursions (which can be
booked once you arrive to the resort) some of them are:
Manati park,
a
visit to Bavaro, going to the Marinarium, and Dolphin island.
