Cabarete Dominican Republic - Surfing, Hotels and Beach

Cabarete Dominican Republic is a popular destination in the Caribbean especially for surfers.

It is approximately 25 minutes away from the Puerto Plata Airport (POP); the official name is the Gregorio Luperon International Airport. This region is actually part of the Puerto Plata Province which is located at the north coast of the country. It has become a very well known place because of the ideal conditions to practice all kinds of water sports, including: windsurfing, kiteboarding, and surfing.

El Encuentro is considered to be one of the best beaches to surf in the Dominican Republic. This beach has other surfing spots which are: Co Surfer riding a wave

co Pipe, Bobo's Point, La Derecha (the right), La Izquierda (the left), and Destroyer. If you are a beginner don't worry, there are various schools with experienced instructors that will guide you in the surfing adventure.

Aside from this one, there are other beaches nearby along with Playa Grande, Playa Caleton, Bozo beach, Playa Preciosa, and Kite beach.

The places to stay in Cabarete are not like the all inclusive resorts that you will generally encounter at Punta Cana. You will see mostly beach houses, condos, hotels, and villa rentals. Just to mention a few: Encuentro beach villa, Bahia de Arena villas, Kaoba Hotel, Paraiso del Sol (all inclusive), Ali's Surf Camp, Villa Taina Hotel, Casa Blanca hotel.

There are other things you can do to have fun outside the water; a wide variety of tours are offered, for example: Ocean World (adventure park, marina, and casino), Jeep Safari, and the Columbus AguaParque (aqua park). Among the activities you can do is horseback riding, mountain biking, rock climbing, you can also play golf.

If you want to go to a restaurant, there are plenty of them to choose from.
