The Barcelo Bavaro Palace Beach Resort can be one of the greatest things that ever happened to Punta Cana. This is a 5 star resort have an all inclusive plan that can make most resorts look bad. This luxurious place has 594 air conditioned rooms with 38 perfectly conditioned suites. The resort is located in a complex with other hotels which make the whole area be pretty huge even when the hotel per se is not that big. The guests in this hotel can enjoy the whole range of restaurants and facilities that are part of the other resorts in the complex as well.

 

A very important detail that stands out in this resort is the fact that it appeals to all audiences. The Barcelo Bavaro Palace Beach Resort is ideal for families, honeymooners, couples, and singles looking for a good time are very welcomed here. The daylight activities like: water sports, golf courses, horseback riding, etc. fit well all the different tastes that any vacationer could have. Discos, night shows and musicals will please the most demanding audience. There is simply no way anyone can find this place boring. Europeans have a liking too for this place and you know what that means, “topless” beaches.

 

Rooms

The accommodations at the Barcelo Bavaro Palace Beach Resort are huge relatively speaking to the other hotels. King-size or 2 double beds, great balcony with beach view, satellite TV, fully equipped bathrooms with tub, shower, hairdryer, and mini bar. The above description was for the standard rooms; the suites have something more extravagant. In addition to the standard room they have a living room linked to it with a sofa bed, second set of TV, a second fully equipped bathroom as well, and another balcony or terrace. Don’t forget the safes which are very useful to keep valuables from getting lost. Another important thing is that most rooms here, like in other resorts in Punta Cana, use the key for your room to activate the power so when you are out of it the AC is not working and the room get that humid smell. Don’t worry, the room cools down quick (like in 30 minutes), so you won’t have to deal with the smell long. Room service always being among the best the I have seen. The staff in this resort work very hard to please the guests so keep that in mind when giving tips.

 

Pool and beach

A breathtaking free form pool surrounded by towering palms, small islands all scattered through the area, and bridges that interconnect the different sectors in the pool ensure this to be something to remember. In many parts of the pool is quite shallow, so there won't be much worrying about it being too deep for the kids and some adults. With the appropriate equipment even kids can have a blast there with the adequate supervision of course. Don’t forget the swim up bar (a pool without a cold beer is just not right).

The use of free chairs and complementary beach towels are all part of the package. The Barcelo Bavaro Palace beach here stretch for 3km with it’s extraordinary white sand and also a natural coral reef for the snorkeling fans. I got to be honest, the snorkeling here is not that great, so you might want to consider  other water sports like : kayaks, windsurf, pedal boats, catamarans and  the famous jet ski (the last 2 has an additional fee).

Food

A good meal helps for a good vacation and in Barcelo Bavaro Palace Beach Resort is not the exception. The resort per se has 6 restaurants, but since you can use all the restaurants in the complex that will make a total of 15 restaurants that you can choose from. From those 15 restaurants there are 2 that are not part of the all inclusive. Chez palace and El fuente in the casino center are restaurants outside the all inclusive cover, so you will have to carry some extra cash if you want to eat at those restaurants.

La brisa and La piña serve mostly snacks and seafood. El Rincón dominicano serves typical Dominican food and El Caribe is the main buffet place. El bohío combines rice meals with grilled delicacies. No need of worrying if you get tired of the buffet, the themed restaurants will help you get the meal that you want. It doesn’t matter if with the food you are the pickiest person on this world, I guarantee that you will find something that you love. Just in case wear long pants at dinner when you eat in a la carte restaurants to avoid any shameful situation and don’t forget to bring a nice tip (that will help in getting inside faster).
