Barcelo Bavaro Golf Course

The Barcelo Bavaro Golf Course is the ideal place to brush up your golfing skills while you have the time of your life. This golf course is located in Bavaro, La Altagracia province in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic and it is owned by the Barcelo Bavaro Resort Complex.

It is an 18 hole course, with golf lessons available. Reservation is required, it must be done with at least 24 hours in advance. This golf course is designed to be enjoyed by people of skill levels; doesn’t matter if you are an amateur or a professional is guaranteed you will love the place. One of its most interesting features is that it has 5 sets of tees that extend from 4688 to 6655 yards.

Cart Fee Pricing

The cart fee pricing varies a bit according to the season. If you play from May 1 to December 22 it is considered off season so the price is the lowest possible which is $35 per person, playing from December 23 to January 14 is close to peak season so the price increase a bit to $40 per person, from January 15 to March 15 playing is the high season of golfing in the Barcelo Bavaro Golf Course in Punta Cana so the price for the cart is the highest which is $50 per person. If you golf from March 16 to April 30 is also considered near season so the price is $40 per person. Keep in mind that the charges cover one 18 hole round.

The round includes the use of snacks and drinks, lockers, showers, taxes, club storage, bucket of balls and shared golf carts. Guests staying at premium accommodations and visitors staying from May 1, 2012 to Dec 2, 2012 have the special bonus of getting 1 free green fee per person for every night they stay at the resort. There is also free green fee per person for every other night if you stay from December 23, 2011 to April 30, 2012 at non premium accommodations. Another thing to remember in the Barcelo Bavaro Golf Course is that is forbidden to walk around to travel long distances; you have to use the cart. If you are golfing alone it will cost $70 for the cart while being a guest of the resort.

Other services requiring an additional fee are: rental clubs ($40), unlimited use of practice facilities and driving range ($10), rider fee and replay fee have to be requested. Cash is not accepted for payments; only credit card.

Overall Look

The layout of the golf course is quite good but challenging at the same time. A lot of beautiful green grass on the course provides a fantastic look. There is lots of water, sand and rocks on the front area but once you get into the back it becomes smoother. The people working there keep the place in good condition by taking out weeds and mowing the place on a constant basis. Once you are ready to start playing the service prepare the cart with water, sodas and beer. The snacks at the club are quite decent although you won’t have a huge meal there. If you run out of golf balls you can certainly try to haggle with the workers to get a good deal. Good tipping can improve the service drastically at the Barcelo Bavaro Golf Course (they work very hard and the pay is not that great). Remember to be there early (6:30 am) if you want to really enjoy your day.

Any cancellation must be done at least 24 hours before tee time otherwise there is going to be a penalty fee.
